Explore Island Lake on a Dog Sledding Tour
This tour starts and ends like our Bog Tour, but gives you more time on the sled to explore Island Lake and covers 12-18+ miles by dog team. It’s a great option for those looking for additional time to drive the sled or extended trail time.
You will first tour our kennel and learn about the dogs, sleds and mushing equipment and take part in harnessing and hooking up your own sled dog team! Then you’ll head down the trail with an experienced guide and explore the beauty of Island Lake. You can even try driving the team if conditions allow or just relax in the sled and enjoy the ride. We’ll entertain you with stories about the natural history of the area.
Finally, you’ll give the dogs water and treats as you help bring them back to their homes at the kennel. We love hearing that people look forward to winter when they go on dog sled rides with Positive Energy Outdoors!
Please note that all participants must read and sign an Assumption of Risk Form/Waiver prior to participation. Minor participants under 18 years old must have a parent/guardian sign the waiver on their behalf. A parent/guardian must be present for the activity.
