Join us at Ely’s Peak near Spirit Mountain in Duluth for beginning-to-intermediate climbing with a fantastic view of the St. Louis River valley! A variety of climbs with heights of up to 60 feet are a short walk from the parking area. You’ll catch sight of stunning wildlife such as hawks soaring overhead!
During this personalized climbing experience, you will receive a full introduction to rock climbing, including cliff edge management, proper safety equipment, harness and helmet fitting, and an introduction to anchor set up. We’ll also teach you how to tie climbing knots, practice good belaying techniques, and more. Receive coaching as you climb from Blake Cazier, one of the region’s most experienced climbing guides. Finally, you’ll also hear stories and info about the unique natural and geological history of the region and the rocks you climb.
